I am Mayor Racquel Vasquez

It has been an honor and a privilege to have served as the Mayor of Lemon Grove since 2016, making history as the first African-American female Mayor in both the City of Lemon Grove and throughout San Diego County. My unwavering dedication to public service has been evident throughout my time in office and was key to my re-election in 2020.

My journey in public service began long before serving as Lemon Grove’s Mayor. I have been a dedicated public servant since long before 2016. I served the people of Lemon Grove, first as a Planning Commissioner, then as a Councilmember, always actively engaging with the community and lending my time and expertise to various groups, associations, and City task forces.

With over 25 years of public service, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to municipal government. I have consistently made it my mission to prioritize our diverse communities and their residents, always placing their needs at the forefront of my initiatives. To me, our people's well-being and community prosperity are paramount.

  1. I am deeply passionate about solving our housing shortage and the resulting homelessness crisis.

  2. I am committed to developing real community resources to build our communities to ensure lasting public safety and thriving communities.

  3. I firmly believe in creating jobs with livable wages and fostering a thriving economy.

Through my proven and impactful leadership, I am shaping a more vibrant and promising tomorrow for the 79th Assembly District. Together, we have the power to build a thriving future. Let us continue working hand in hand, shaping a tomorrow that we can all be proud of.
